Eight years ago when I had someone “pop” my back, I started having difficulty walking and it progressively got worse. I went to a physical therapist thinking that would help. Then I went to a different doctor, a chiropractor. He wasn’t able to help and sent me to a neurologist. After an MRI and several other tests he diagnosed me with multiple sclerosis(MS). In my heart I never felt like I had MS and I explained to the doctor what I thought started it, which was the “popping” someone had done to me. The first neurologist moved and I was sent to a different one who said I did not have MS, but did not know what was wrong and all this time I was getting worse. Then I went to an orthopedic doctor and they did x-rays and said possibly I had a herniated disc, but that couldn’t be causing the problem. So then I just let it go.
Steve Bane and Don Herbst told me about Dr. Link. I still waited until my sister Joyce also told me about him. Before I came here I could not lift my right leg or bend my right knee. My right knee was numb. I was so depressed I didn’t care much about anything.
Now after only my first appointment I really felt good about coming here. I was treated like a patient, not just a number. After five weeks I can now move my right foot up and down, push my leg up, and bend my knee to my chest. I have no more numbness in my knee and my back pain is almost gone. I feel like myself again.
My goal is to be able to get on the floor and play with my grandchildren, even if they are twenty years old.
